Getting to and from Ko-KoodKoh-Kood is only accessible by boat from neighboring islands Koh Chang and Koh Mak or from the Thai mainland at Leam Sok -30 minutes south of Trat. An airport in Trat is serviced by Bangkok Airways, which has daily flights from Bangkok. Land transport from Bangkok to Trat, including Bus Service from Ekkamai Eastern Bus Station, takes roughly 5 hours. Boat trips from Trat to Koh Kood take either 1 hour or 4-5 hours depending on speedboat or slow boat service. However, most visitors to Koh Kood are booked on package tours that feature connections from Bangkok to a particular resort. Independent travelers will have little difficultly getting to the island as most busses to Trat have established connections to the piers at Laem Ngob and Dan Kao where slow boats and one hour speedboats are timed to depart after bus arrivals. In the low season there is only slow boat service to the islands. Getting Around Ko-KoodThere are no taxis on the island so visitors have limited options for getting around the island, although this is hardly problematic. Mountain bike, motorbike, and car rental service is available from most hotels, and taxi boat services to beach-hop or explore nearby islands can be arranged by hotels as well.
